Little Finland Choir will perform at 3 pm and the Kivajat Finnish American Folk Dance Group will perform at 4 pm.

Admission is $5, which includes lunch.

Information about the Kivajat Group:

The Kivajat Finnish American Folk Dance Group was started in the fall of 2004, in order to have a UP children's dance presence at the 2005 Marquette, MI  FinnFest.  Sponsored by the Finnish American Heritage Center of Finlandia University, Hancock, MI, the youth, ages 8 - 18 learn, interpret, teach and perform traditional Finnish folk dances.   Over the years, the Kivajat have traveled to Finland 3 times, have danced at multiple festivals throughout the Upper Peninsula, and include winter performances at nursing homes.  Wherever they perform, the children bring joy and add color, wearing costumes based on traditional Finnish folk wear.  The Kivajat are thrilled to be performing again, after a two year hiatus due to Covid, as they help preserve a delightful part of the Finnish culture!   ~Kay Seppala, director
